Hello,
I have been using KOHO for years. Always been a huge positive thing in my life and has helped me get out of debt in so many ways and manage my money properly.
One thing has happened lately that has actually changed the whole experience and my money planning in a very bad way.
This is pertaining to goals section.
Before in the goals section, you could set up as many goals as you like, without having the actual amount of money loaded on the card/in the account. Being able to plan out what would be happening day by day, week by week or month by month moving money from the spendable with no problems if you didn't have the actual amount already loaded on the card BUT...
Recently with the new UX and UI changes, a new WALL has gone up and not in a good way.
Now when creating a goal you HAVE to have the money already loaded on the card before even creating the goal. The system wont let you actually create the whole at all without having the amount you already want to save on the card....
This is a huge blockage not just for me but for people that I have brought onto KOHO as well who are also complaining about this new "instance".
As a user I've been super happy with all the new updates and changes to the whole system making things more user friendly and easy to use with extras.
BUT with this change to the goals section (which is something HUGE for me to plan my money month by month) it has put me completely off of using the whole app. My biggest question is why would I be setting up a goal if I already had the money in the account. If its something that could take weeks, months or years to get to, if I already had the money in the account, I wouldn't need to set the goal up in the first place.
Goals are meant to be something to work towards, especially since you also have payroll and direct deposit integrated with the system, does that now explain that the goals should be something that are added to as you add more money to the card/account.
This is causing a huge WHY would I even use the card if I already have a bank account that I can keep my money in. The perks of this card was money management, not just the interest rates or credit building.
KOHO speaks huge for money management and being able to control your money, but this is something that is putting a huge wall up for something you stand for.
My suggestion is to change it back to make sure we can create goals even if the money isn't in the account so people can plan accordingly either way.
I hope this changes or I will be finding an alternative quickly, especially since a kore message being "The best account for better finances" and "Plans for all sorts of spending and saving" this addition is not something that aligns with those.

Hello,
I'm writing to inform you that as a koho card user, a lot of the
functions in your app are seemingly inaccessible to anyone using a
screen reader in Canada.
To keep things short and sweet here, I'll name a few.
- Virtual card numbers. It's impossible for a screen reader user to
get these either on IOS, Android or the web.
While statements remain accessible, navigating to items in the app and
on the web is a challenge for screen reader users as the website uses
non-standard HTML elements to navigate through items. In fact the most
accessible part to Koho, is the logged out version of the site.
- Besides navigational element challenges, Koho's verification
process to get a physical card a screen reader user could place on a
scanner to retrieve basic information, is also inaccessible. To
someone for instance who is completely blind, they would not be able
to upload documents that are completely visual through your app.
Making it more challenging and harder to access Koho on a regular
basis as a viable alternative option to their regular credit card.
Adding to this, a lot of people who need assistive technologies for
their financial independence, are ineligible to apply for most credit
cards due to income constraints. And since your card works directly
through accessible bank interaq, it is by far the most easiest way to
spend money online for these users, as it is their perhaps one and
only way to easily be able to do this at all. Some banks offer Visa
Debit, but this isn't available to anyone seeking to build up their
credit score which you provide.
- Koho detects Google pay, but not Samsung Pay on Samsung phones. It
also detects Apple Pay on iPhones by default when using the app. It
would be interesting to see if automatic integration of alternative
payment processors could be added to the app for Android for users who
cannot see their virtual card, to be able to quickly add one to a
service more accessible to them on their phone.
Other than that, I am very happy with the service and believe you are
25% more reputable than the competition. Wise and Wealth Simple to
name a couple. perhaps it would be a good idea to support everything
in the web that the apps can do.
